| 概要 | OBJECTIVE: This study assessed physiological changes in the placental expression of genes related to angiogenesis and oxidative stress during the early first trimester.METHODS & RESULTS: Gene expression was quantified via RT-PCR in villous trophoblast samples from women at 6–11 weeks of gestation undergoing elective abortion. Messenger RNA (mRNA) levels of placental growth factor (PlGF; $r=.37, P=.001$), heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1; $r=.24, P=.04$), and superoxide dismutase (SOD; $r=.52, P<.001$) increased significantly with gestational age. Conversely, fms-like tyrosine kinase 1 (FLT-1) mRNA expression decreased significantly ($r=-.30, P=.009$).CONCLUSION: During the early first trimester, placental expression of PlGF, HO-1, and SOD increases with gestational age, while FLT-1 decreases. Alterations in this gene expression pattern may play an important role in placenta-related disorders like preeclampsia. |
